Garment Care
100% Linen Pieces
The best way to prolong the life of your linen piece is to hand-wash in cool water and hang to dry.
Alternately, you can put your piece in a lingerie bag and machine wash it on gentle.
Linen is a durable fiber and can withstand warm water/the dryer, but keep in mind that if you choose to launder your pieces this way it will cause the colors to fade faster and will drastically reduce the life of your garment.
Your linen piece might feel stiff and/or wrinkly after air-drying. It will relax once you wear it a bit! Linen is a naturally wrinkly material, so you should always expect some wrinkling, but movement and natural body heat / moisture will soften it.
The tie ends on the museum top and dress have been treated with fray-check to prevent fraying, however if this treatment wears off or if you choose to cut the ties shorter we recommend re-treating them.
Mending is an expected and beautiful part of caring for a garment. All garments degrade over time. Part of combatting fast fashion is pushing against the idea that garments are disposable. They aren’t, and in most cases they are mendable! If your piece is in need of mending at some point, please contact us. Though we do not offer mending services, we are always happy to walk you through the best way to patch/stitch/reinforce a garment.
